"Innuendo" is a song by English rock band Queen. It is the opening track on the 1991 album of the same name. Though credited to the whole band, the song is mainly written by Freddie Mercury, with lyrics by Roger Taylor. At six and a half minutes, it is one of Queens longest songs, and their longest ever released as a single, exceeding "Bohemian Rhapsody" by 35 seconds. Like that song, it was released as the first single from its parent album, despite its length and complexity, going straight to #1 in the UK Singles Chart. Featured is a flamenco guitar section performed by Yes guitarist Steve Howe and Brian May, an operatic interlude that harks back to the Queen of old, sections of heavy metal, and lyrics inspired in part by Mercurys illness.
