All Summer Long is the 3rd single from Rock N Roll Jesus, the 9th studio album by Kid Rock. The song uses samples from Warren Zevons "Werewolves of London" and Lynyrd Skynyrds "Sweet Home Alabama", which feature the same chord progression. The latter features Billy Powell on piano. The theme is a Northern Michigan based coming of age tale about a young man and his first love in 1989, who fall in love to the song "Sweet Home Alabama". The girl was 17 when Kid Rock was 18. Years later every time he hears that song he thinks back to her and those days and longs to see her again. The mash up was created by former bassist Mike Bradford and he got a production credit for the song. The song was the official theme song for WWEs Backlash 2008.
