"Jeremy" is a song by the American rock band Pearl Jam. Featuring lyrics written by vocalist Eddie Vedder and music written by bassist Jeff Ament, "Jeremy" was inspired by a newspaper article Vedder read about a high school student who killed himself in front of his classmates. "Jeremy" was released in 1992 as the third single from Pearl Jams debut album, Ten (1991). The song reached the number five spot on both the Mainstream Rock and Modern Rock Billboard charts. The song was included on Pearl Jams 2004 greatest hits album, rearviewmirror (Greatest Hits 1991–2003). A remixed version of the song was included on the 2009 Ten reissue.
