Partway through the song, the lyric "the sun is in the east, even though the day is done" is a metaphor referring to the glowing fireball of a nuclear explosion. Session drummer, Andy Newmark plays drums on this song, due to Pink Floyd drummer Nick Masons inability to perform the complex timing changes, because of its unusual 5/4 time signature.
