Liberian Girl by Michael Jackson
Genre: Pop
Year: 1987
Year: 1987
"Liberian Girl" was the second single to be released from Michael Jacksons 1987 album Bad. The song was written as early as 1983 and was among those considered for The Jacksons Victory album. It was reworked and rewritten for Bad. The song was released as a single in Europe and Australia. The song starts with Swahili language phrase "Naku Penda pia, Naku Taka pia, Mpenziwe!" (I love you too, I want you too, my love!), which was sung by a South African singer by the name of Letta Mbulu (although the official language of Liberia is English, and Swahili is only commonly spoken on the opposite coast of Africa). Liberian Girl is dedicated to close friend and actress Elizabeth Taylor. Read full article at wikipedia.org
