It was the title song to the album Over Under Sideways Down (US, German and French title), or Yardbirds (UK title) which is more commonly referred to as Roger the Engineer. The song was based around Bill Haley and the Comets "Rock Around the Clock" with Jeff Beck on lead guitar and bass guitar.
The B-side was "Jeffs Boogie", an instrumental featuring Jeff Beck on lead guitar. Stevie Ray Vaughan has performed the song live on stage. Beck, Bogert, and Appice also performed the song live in concert.
"Jeffs Boogie" was, although the band claimed writing credits for the song, a thinly veiled cover of Chuck Berrys Guitar Boogie.
