"I Want You" is a 1966 song recorded by Bob Dylan which appeared on the album Blonde on Blonde. It was also released as a single with a live version of "Just Like Tom Thumbs Blues" in June, reaching number twenty on the Billboard Hot 100 and number sixteen in the UK. A live version later appeared on the album Dylan and the Dead, a collaboration with the Grateful Dead.
It has been argued that the song is about Anita Pallenberg, at the time the girlfriend of Brian Jones, because of the line "Now your dancing child with his chinese suit/ He spoke to me, I took his flute./ No, I wasnt very cute to him, was I?" Brian Jones was known to Dylan and they hung out when Dylan was in London.
